In 1955 Bally introduces a very special bingo. The "beach Beauty". Except for Corners Score 300, two super cards and three extra balls, you can also get the so-called "Wild Pockets". To understand the operation of the "Wild Pockets", some explanation is necessary.
On the back glass you can see that the numbers of the first and second horizontal rows, and the numbers 2 and 18, are red. The other numbers are green. On the playfield those numbers are red and green, too.
While speeding up, an arrow on the backglass can lit up with the numbers 1, 2, 3 in red or 4, 5, 6, 7 in green. Suppose the red arrow is lit. Now if a ball hits in 1, 2 or 3, the number on the backglass that is lit can be changed into any other red number. You can do this by turning a knob. So if the first ball hits 22, the second ball hits 19, and the third ball hits 2, you can turn the knob and move the 2 to 18. Now you scored a 3 in line.
If the green arrow is lit, and the ball hits 4, 5, 6 or 7, you can select any green number.
But, if the card "Select red or green number in cards" is lit, you can select the red numbers as well as the green numbers by scoring a "Wild Pocket". This of course also goes for the numbers on the super cards.
And, finally, the Beach Beauty offers a surprise: if you score a "Wild Pocket" with your first, second or third ball, you must select a number after shooting your third ball.
But, if you score a "Wild Pocket" after your fourth or fifth ball, you may select a number after shooting this particular ball. It is even possible to select a number after shooting the first, second or third 'extra' ball. So to score a 5 in line, you have to try to hit a "Wild Pocket" as late as you can. In any case, do it with your eighth ball, because that's the last one.
